Alu
Kerau (Potatoes and Green Peas) is one of the better known dishes of
Nepali cuisine. This is a favorite cuisine at various occasions
ranging from a family picnic to a wedding buffet. This goes well
with any types of other snacks.
INGREDIENTS:

Garam masala ( also can be a mixture of cumin powder and

PROCEDURES:

Boil or microwave the potatoes until they are soft, then
chop into the pieces of desired shape. |

In
a heavy frying pan, heat the oil over low heat. |

Add
onion and garlic and cook till light brown. |

Add
tomato, peas and all spices. |
|

Cook for 5 minutes, continually stirring to form a well
blended sauce. |

Add
potatoes and stir for a minute to cover with sauce. |

Add
water and cook in a medium heat for 5 more minutes. |

Lower the heat, add chopped green coriander and cook another
few minutes at the end. |

Taste for salt and spices, and add red chilli powder for
desired hotness. |
